Are you a young graduate who is eager to network, meet new people, try something new and do business? Orpheus Sinfonia, themselves outstanding recent graduates, are hosting a networking event alongside their next concert Beneath The Score: The Love Triangle on 23rd March. There will be opportunities to meet other like-minded people before the concert, during the interval, and also afterwards over a drink or two.

There are many networking events out there but this one will be unique in its combination of business and culture. The concert’s theme focuses around classical music’s most famous love triangle between husband and wife Robert and Clara Schumann and their friend Johannes Brahms. Who will win over Clara in the end? Far from being your stereotypical concert, the music will be explained in a simple yet informative way, perfect for the classical music novice. Armed with this knowledge, you will be able to talk intelligently about culture when entertaining your clients back at the office. The concert is also a great excuse to take time out of your busy schedule to relax: being a young graduate can be tough if you are in a new city, job and routine.

So, come along, enjoy some great music, get noticed and make connections for yourself and your company.

    Don’t forget your business cards!

Beneath The Score: The Love Triangle, St George’s Hanover Square, 19:30, 23rd March. Reserve your £5 tickets by emailing clara@wildkatpr.com

WildKat PR is delighted to welcome label Village Green, and composer and musician, John Matthias to our roster.

Village Green is a London based independent recording and publishing company. They are a broad platform for artists operating in the worlds of alternative pop, modern classical, minimalism, electro-acoustic and ambient music. WildKat PR will be working with their whole roster of clients, covering a huge range of genres, including artists such as John Matthias, Mint Julep, Snow Palms, Adrian Corker and Chris Morphitis.

John Matthias is an award-winning musician, singer and composer who has collaborated with many recording artists including Radiohead and Coldcut. He has performed extensively in venues such as the Wordless Music Series in New York, The Pompidou Centre in Paris and at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.  John’s previous album, ‘Cortical Songs’ (Neoclassical 2008) was listed as one of the top ten classical albums by Time Out (Chicago) in 2009.

John Matthias’s latest album, ‘Geisterfahrer’, is released on the Village Green Label in February 2014. The disc includes a mixture of material: new works written and performed by John Matthias and Andrew Prior for the new dance-theatre work, ‘Eden’, by Company Chameleon and choreographed by Jonathan Goddard and Gemma Nixon; as well as being partly recorded at a 600 year-old school in Ashburton, Devon, with the unique and fantastic acoustic of this space being reproduced onto all of the other tracks on the album by producers, Simon Honywill and Jay Auborn.

The thirteen stunning tracks were recorded in two sessions with John Matthias performing on piano, violin and guitar, with all of his vocal performances being recorded live alongside the guitar parts. The album will be re-created live at the ‘Thinking Music’ themed Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival, Plymouth University on February 9th 2014.

To stay up to date with the latest Village Green news take a look at their website. Additionally, see John Matthias’ website for more information about him and his album release.

We are delighted to welcome three wonderful ensembles to our artist roster: 4 Girls 4 Harps, i’Anson, and the London International Players.

4 Girls 4 Harps is an internationally renowned harp quartet formed at the Royal College of Music who have gone from strength to strength since they began performing together in 2000. With busy schedules both as a quartet and as soloists, Harriet Adie, Keziah Thomas, Eleanor Turner and Elizabeth Scorah have jointly commissioned and arranged numerous works, establishing themselves as Europe’s leading harp ensemble.

4 Girls 4 Harps are soon to release an exciting new Christmas album featuring arrangements of well-loved and lesser-known carols and Christmas songs. Their commitment to expanding the repertoire for harp quartet has seen them collaborate with a number of composers and performers, including soprano Helen Winter, who features on four carols on the new Christmas album.

4 Girls 4 Harps’ most recent CD, ‘Fireworks and Fables’, has been broadcasted frequently on a wide range of radio stations such as Classic FM and Australian radio station ‘ABC’, and the group have performed in a range of venues and festivals across the UK and Europe.

We are also delighted to be working with i’Anson, whose music combines artistic integrity with mainstream commercial opportunity to create a unique and original sound world similar to that of Damien Rice, Sigur Ros, and Ludovico Einaudi. The group consists of the award-winning and critically acclaimed Scottish Ensemble, along with Steve Jansen (percussion), and Dudley Phillips (bass), who have collaborated with songwriter Hugh Carswell, to create an ensemble of highest acclaim. i’Anson’s music is permeated with a sense of contentment, offering the listener a reprieve from modern life.

i’Anson’s debut album, ‘In Chances of Light’, which is inspired by Hugh Carswell’s life on a remote and idyllic Scottish island, will be released in November 2013. The album thus has a very personal touch as the music is supported by a compelling personal story of discovery, written by Hugh as he left behind a busy life in London to live on the remote Scottish Island of Jura, rebuilding his family’s cottage and writing music at the same time.

The final addition to our roster is the London International Players, an ensemble comprising of distinguished soloists and chamber musicians from many corners of the world, brought together through a mutual love of chamber music and common musical ideals.

LIP concentrate on traditional artistic values, and from the onset of their first season, have proved unique and illustrious. With a Wigmore Hall debut this September, and a performance of ‘Bach to Britten’, a journey bound together by aesthetics of purgatory, perfection and purity, in November at Cadogan Hall, LIP already have a demanding schedule for the upcoming year. After this, in a series at St John’s Smith Square in June 2014, LIP will celebrate Richard Strauss’ 150th Birthday with forbidden music of the interwar period in Germany. With a debut disc to compliment the series (ahead of a proposed European tour in the 2014/15 season), the London International Players look set for a bright and exciting future.
