WildKat worked with Ailie last year on the release of her first classical single, Haven, which reached number two in the iTunes Classical Chart. She is currently a member of the RSNO Composers’ Hub, and was also awarded a BBC Performing Arts Fellowship.

Ailie has won numerous competitions including The Sofia International Composition Competition, the SCO Composition Prize, and came second in the Oslo Grieg Competition.  Ailie works tirelessly to increase the profile and visibility of both traditional and contemporary music in Scotland.  In 2016 she curated and produced ‘Echoes and Traces’, a partnership between 8 Scottish composers, Cappella Nova, Historic Scotland and Sound and Music.

WildKat PR is delighted to announce that we are working with Ailie Robertson. Ailie is a composer, arranger, and harpist whose styles traverse the boundaries between folk, classical, and even jazz.

All of Ailie’s six recordings to date have focused on her folk influences. For her upcoming single release, however, Ailie has turned her attention to classical composition, in a work scored for string quartet and harp. Haven takes its inspiration from the Scottish ‘keening’ tradition, a type of vocal lament.

As a composer, Ailie has won numerous awards, including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Composition Prize, The Sofia International Composition Competition, and was runner-up in the 14th International Oslo Grieg Competition. She has received commissions from some of the UK’s most prestigious cultural institutions including the BBC, Creative Scotland, and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

WildKat PR is delighted to introduce our newest client Anneleen Lenaerts. The 28 year old Belgian harpist is making  a name for herself as one of the leading soloists on her instrument. Since December 2010, Anneleen has been the Principal Harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic. With her Album ‘Harp Concertos’, she presents a 2015 remastering of fellow Belgian composer, Joseph Jongen’s music. Anneleen has also released two other CDs, ‘Chopin&Liszt’ and a collaboration with oboist Karel Schoofs. She furthermore collaborated with last season’s raising star clarinetist Dionysis Grammenos.

From an early age she started winning an impressive array of prizes, namely 17 prizes between 1997 and 2009, of which the “Grand Prix International Lily Laskine” and the ARD International Music Competition in Munich are particularly outstanding. Since then, she has played in many high-profile venues all over the world, including Wigmore Hall in London and the Festspielhaus in Salzburg.

Whilst the romantic lyricism of these works is closely associated with the qualities of the harp, it is her virtuosity which gains particular attraction, thanks to Anneleen Lenaerts’ skill and articulation. Highly praised by critics, she is known for her impressive technical ability, her precise playing, variety of tone and excellent musical phrasing. This year she will be touring the USA as well as Germany, Austria and Belgium.

We are very much looking forward to working with Anneleen and to help her getting a bigger audience for her wonderful music. Keep checking the WildKat PR blog for updates and also WildKat PR blog for updates and also Anneleen’s website.

WildKat PR is excited to be working with the Swiss mother and daughter ensemble Duo Praxedis in the coming months.

Praxedis Hug-Rütti (harp) and her daughter Praxedis Geneviève Hug (piano) are set to revive the rather unusual chamber ensemble formation of piano and harp duo – an instrument combination which was frequently used in the early classical era but has since fallen into obscurity.

Praxedis and Praxedis first performed on stage together in 1996 when they were asked to play Bach’s Double Concerto, arranged for harp and piano, with orchestra. Since 2009, the duo have performed regularly in Switzerland and also internationally with their diverse repertoire, including early classical works for their instruments as well as their own arrangements of later masterpieces and contemporary compositions. They commissioned the renowned Swiss composer Oliver Waespi to write a Double Concerto for Harp, Piano and Wind Orchestra, which had its world premiere at the Tonhalle in Zürich in 2014.

Duo Praxedis fascinates audiences with their sensitive and intimate interpretations as well as their extraordinary concert dresses, which are their own designs, carefully tailored by the long-established embroidery company St. Galler Stickerei-Manufaktur Forster-Rohner and Jakob Schläpfer. The duo have performed at prestigious festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy AG, festival.Esterházy and the Engadin Festival. Their CDs were released with the labels Guildmusic, Preiser and Paladino.

Visit Duo Praxedis’ Youtube channel to get an impression of their unique music-making and follow them on Facebook for news and updates.
