This February is packed with exciting musical performances in all genres, and the WildKat PR team have picked their favourites for this week’s Unmissables:

What? Violin and Piano Lunchtime Concert

Where? St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, EC4Y 8AU

When? Tuesday 15th February 13:15 (This concert is free!)

Lunchtime concerts are always a great way to hear highly talented musicians perform to an intimate concert, usually for free! This concert sees Sarah Turner on Violin performing Schubert’s Violin sonata in A major, D.574 and Manuel De Falla’s La Vida Breve: Spanish Dance no. 1 (Danse Espagnole) with accompaniments from Nao Maebayashi.

This programme includes works from Alison Balsom’s latest CD of Italian concertos, recorded with the Scottish Ensemble, as well as the world première of a new commission for Balsom and the Ensemble by James MacMillan. The new work is framed by the rarely performed Variations on ‘Sellenger’s Round’ (also known as the Aldeburgh Variations) and Tippett’s homage to Corelli.
