In today’s news it has been announced that the most famous painting of Bach by Elias Gottlob Haussman will return to Leipzig where the composer made his home. Polish composer Szymanowksi’s King Roger will be have its Covent Garden premiere this weekend, having been written in 1926. Elsewhere, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra have given a free concert in ‘support of our community’ after the riots this week. In other orchestra news, the Berlin Philharmonic have announced their 2015/16 season which will feature Peter Sellars as their artist in residence. Finally, choirs could become a regular feature in care homes, alongside activities such as bingo.
