We’re delighted to be working with Kimiko again. This campaign will see us supporting her exciting new Kickstarter project, which will finance her recording of J.S. Bach’s Die Kunst der Fuge.

Kimiko is not new to Kickstarter, her former project recording the Goldberg Variations was a tremendous success. Spiegel.de called her a “music activist“ for having published not only an online stream of her recordings but also her sheet music under Common License. As a result, Kimiko’s project was picked up all around the world and established her as a key interpreter of Bach’s repertoire.

For her new project, Kimiko chose another demanding work by Bach: The Art of Fugue, a piece which was left incomplete by Bach when he died.  The question of how to bring the performance to an end has kept generations of pianists busy. Some end the performance abruptly when there are no more notes to play, like Glenn Gould, who would play the last note “like a pistol shot”, as Kimiko’s manager Robert Douglass interprets it, to mark the interruption and the ‘unfinishedness’. Dissatisfied with all of these choices, Kimiko thought: “This music, so miraculously crafted, can’t end like that, unfinished. It’s wrong. It can’t be accepted.“
So she wrote her own completion of the work. In March she presented her own solution, Die Kunst der Fuge, komplett, in Cologne, Germany. The concert ended with tremendous applause and the feedback from the audience was that they did not notice the transition from Bach’s composition to Kimiko’s addition, as it was composed and executed so flawlessly.

Now we’re delighted to support Kimiko in taking this project to the next level. The fundraiser for the CD release of Die Kunst der Fuge will start this Spring. The CD will be recorded in 2018 at Teldex Studio, Berlin. Stay tuned for Kimiko’s unique version of The Art of Fugue!

Mein Praktikum bei WildKat neigt sich dem Ende zu: Nach nur 2 Monaten muss ich die Agentur schweren Herzens wieder verlassen, denn die Semesterferien sind vorbei. Ab nächster Woche heißt es wieder büffeln und vor allem viel lesen, denn die Uni geht wieder los und mein Studium macht sich nicht von alleine. WildKat PR is delighted to be working with 7K!, the new neo-classical Hub launched by the independent label !K7 Records.

7K! is a new platform and home for neo-classical projects which will be supported by the in-house expertise and spirit of legendary music company !K7 records. 7K! will comprise a record label and label services collective, as well as sync and artist management divisions.

In the first quarter of 2017, the label will kick off its release schedule with the album ‘Endless’ by multi-instrumentalist and globally-renowned composer Luca D’Alberto. Last week, two concerts took place in Berlin at Silent Green, including one sell-out performance.

D’Alberto is a brilliant, mold-breaking musician who is already highly regarded on the classical scene, as both a multi-instrumentalist and composer. He is a favourite composer of directors such as Peter Greenaway, Wim Wenders and Fernando Arrabal. His upcoming album ‘Endless’ is the result of his decision to shake up his classical training into new charters, preferring instead to use his talents to create a more contemporary style of music that sees him exploring the pairing of electronics with acoustic instruments. ‘Endless’ was produced by Martyn Heyne (Tiny Ruins, The National) and Henrik Schwarz, and is preceded by the single ‘Wait For Me’, released in December.

Job Description

WildKat PR is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Berlin team to lead and advise on social media and digital strategy across the company.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a digital specialist to join one of the leading PR agencies at a time of continued rapid international growth, and to work creatively with an exciting roster of varied and high-profile artists and clients. This role requires an excellent knowledge and understanding of the digital landscape, but does not require experience within the cultural or arts sectors.

The Social Media and Content Manager will be based in the Berlin office, but will also work closely with the London team and must be fluent in English. This role is ideal for an English-speaker who would like to relocate to Berlin. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.
Start date: August/September 2016

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop the strategy and execution of the social media and content platforms for WildKat PR’s clients. Platforms will include, but are not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat
• Determine measures of success and evaluate the work carried out
• Lead the planning, creation and distribution of engaging, timely and relevant content for WildKat PR’s clients, ensuring sensitivity to the individual personalities and priorities of each client
• Work closely with the Account Managers in London and Berlin to ensure that social media and digital campaigns are closely linked to the PR and publicity work that is taking place for each client
• Create social media overviews and progress reports to feed back to clients
• Lead the running of the WildKat PR social media channels, advising Account Managers on best practice and developing the audience and reach of each channel
• Encourage innovation and forward-thinking throughout WildKat PR’s social media and digital work, staying informed of new trends and platforms and feeling confident and inspired to try out new ideas

 

Person Specification:

• Minimum of two years’ experience working in social media and content creation
• In-depth understanding of best practice across all social channels and emerging platforms
• Awareness and understanding of evolving technology, alongside the ability to research and discover new and innovative opportunities and platforms
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Fluent English speaker, but with an extremely high level of proficiency in German
• A team player, with proven experience working in a busy office
