Into the Winds was founded in 2019 and is made up of musicians who specialise in playing early wind instruments. Its aim is to introduce as many people as possible to the secular and sacred music of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. The ensemble is a laureate of the international early music competition of the Oude Muziek Utrecht festival. It is supported by the European EEEMERGING+ programme, coordinated by the Ambronay cultural meeting centre, and the Caisse des Dépôts Group. Their first album, Le parfait danser, will be released by Ricercar on 12 May. This recording explores the first notated dances of the 13th to 15th centuries, the songs and pieces that were sometimes the source of them, as well as the more refined compositions that were inspired by them. The disc programme was performed in 2022 and will be repeated at numerous concerts and festivals in 2023.
