Co-founded in 1997 by Jean-Luc Tingaud and Gilles Demonet, under the impetus of Manuel Rosenthal, the Orchestre Atelier Ostinato gives its 80 young instrumentalists specific experience of the profession of orchestral musician, with a stylistic and demanding approach. It is the only youth orchestra to pay its musicians, who are students at the best conservatoires, bringing them as close as possible to professional conditions and requirements and offering access to excellence whatever their social background. A human and artistic adventure, this “springboard orchestra” gives talented artists the opportunity to experience orchestral music first-hand. The Orchestre Atelier Ostinato gives between 30 and 40 concerts a year in prestigious venues in the Paris region, including the Grande Salle of the Philharmonie de Paris, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Amphithéâtre de l’Opéra de Paris and the Palais des Congrès. In recent years, it has built up a number of demanding artistic partnerships, notably with the Académie de l’Opéra national de Paris.
