Roberto David Rusconi

Composer

Born in Venice, Italy, Roberto David Rusconi is a visionary producer, composer and sound designer focused on cross-disciplinary performances in art, dance, music and theatre. He graduated from Padua Conservatory in Composition, Piano, Choir Conducting and Electronic Music, and during his time in Italy won several international awards, including the Valentino Bucchi Prize and the Concorso 2 Agosto.

Rusconi moved to the UK in 2001 and is currently based in London. With a PhD awarded at Kings College London and prestigious fellowships, residencies and commissions he has been supported by Arts Council England, The Bliss Trust, The British Council, Ernst Von Siemens, and PRS among many others.

His practise is informed by shamanism, ritualistic practices, music embodiment and 3D sound projection. His solo, ensemble and orchestral work is published by Verlag Neue Musik Berlin and has been performed by Klangforum Wien, Phace, OENM Salzburg, Contrechamps, Minguet, JACK, Amar and Kairos quartets. He produces music for film, TV series and documentaries under many aliases.

On 17th May 2019, Roberto David Rusconi will premiere his new work Variazioni Tiepolo at the Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room. A new work consisting of four variations for solo violin and inspired by the hidden alchemical messages in Giovanni Battista Tiepolo’s artwork, the variations of the piece will be shared between by the two violinists of the Minguet Quartet.
