King’s Cross has announced Dame Evelyn Glennie as its musician-in-residence in partnership with PRS for Music Foundation. The virtuoso percussionist will explore, write and perform new music over a 12-month period whilst based in the area.

Singer Katherine Jenkins and her husband Andrew Levitas are to produce a new children’s animated TV show. Symphony Street will be aimed at four to eight-year-olds and it is hoped it could be screened on Welsh channel S4C.

According to The Stage, the Musicians’ Union claim the show has only five musicians currently employed, as opposed to eight on the previous tour, and that they’re using “unauthorised” backing music.
