BACKPMLL LAUNCHES NEW LICENCE FOR UK AMATEUR CHOIRS
The Printed Music Licensing Limited (PMLL), part of the MPA Group, is pleased to announce that it has launched its brand-new licence, the Amateur Choir Licence. Commencing on Tuesday 10th September 2019, the new licence will initially be available on a six-month trial basis. PMLL will continue to work with its members and relevant trade organisations to assess the trail scheme ahead of a planned full launch in 2020.
This new licence will not only protect the rights of Songwriters and Publishers but will also allow for easier access to sheet music for amateur choirs across the UK. All choirs that wish to participate will be asked to complete a short survey before and after the trial, as PMLL seeks to procure accurate usage reporting.

Stattdessen fließen die Abogebühren der Nutzer*innen direkt an ihre gehörten Künstler*innen. Musikfans können auf der Webseite mehr darüber erfahren, wie ein nutzerbasiertes Abrechnungsmodell (UCPS) Künstler*innen und Genres zugutekommt. Über den Hashtag #MakeStreamingFair können alle dazu beitragen, ein Bewusstsein für ein UCPS in den sozialen Medien zu schaffen. Nutzer*innen eines Deezer Premium Abos können zudem über die Webseite einsehen, wie viel von ihren Abogebühren nach dem derzeitigen Modell an die von ihnen gehörten Künstler*innen geht und wie sie ihre Lieblingskünstler*innen nach Einführung eines UCPS unterstützen würden.
Deezer Launches Initiative to Make Music Streaming Revenues Fairer for Artists
The global audio streaming service Deezer has launched a new initiative to help music fans understand how a User-Centric Payment System (UCPS) in music streaming would make the industry fairer for artists worldwide.
The initiative will focus on Deezer’s new UCPS website. It explains the benefits of the fairer user-based model, where the distribution of royalties is no longer based on market share as has been the case with music streaming. Instead, users’ subscription fees are paid directly to the artists they listen to. Music fans can learn more on the website about how a user-based billing model (UCPS) benefits artists and genres.
