A recent Curtis Institute of Music graduate is a new composer in residence for Opera Philadelphia and the Music-Theatre Group of New York. Rene Orth, 30, is the sixth composer to go through the program, starting her term June 1.

J. Reilly Lewis, Washington Metro Area Concertmaster & Organist, Dies at 71
Lewis, a prominent authority on Bach, founded the Washington Bach Consort and served as music leader at Clarendon United Methodist Church for over 40 years. Also music director of the Cathedral Choral Society, Reilly was a one of the most important musicians in the Washington classical music scene.
