Two Moors Festival returns for 2019

The Two Moors Festival returns for its 19th year from 11 – 20 October 2019. Taking place in 15 locations across Exmoor and Dartmoor, the festival brings together more than 300 performers in a celebration of classical music featuring leading musicians such as Imogen Cooper, the Elias Quartet and Roderick Williams.

UK Music welcomes google action against Viagogo

UK Music chief executive Michael Dugher has welcomed the decision by Google to suspend secondary ticketing website Viagogo as an advertiser. This follows Viagogo’s refusal to comply with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) order over treatment of their customers and comes a day before Viagogo is due to respond to contempt of court action launched by the CMA. Earlier this month, Dugher reiterated his call for Google to protect customers from rip-off ticket prices and to remove Viagogo as an advertiser appearing at the top of most Google searches for concert tickets.

Musiktherapie verbessert Lebensqualität bei Krebserkrankten

Musiktherapie hilft bei Krebserkrankungen. Das bestätigt ein am Freitag veröffentlichter Bericht des Instituts für Qualität und Wirtschaftlichkeit im Gesundheitswesen (IQWiG). Das IQWiG stellt fest, dass vor allem psychische Begleitsymptome wie zum Beispiel Abgeschlagenheit, Angst, Stress, Anspannung, Stimmungsschwankungen durch musiktherapeutische Interventionen kurzfristig günstig beeinflusst werden. Die Studie bescheinigt, dass die gesundheitsbezogene Lebensqualität und das subjektive Wohlempfinden durch Musiktherapie verbessert werden.

Music therapy improves quality of life for cancer patients

Music therapy helps with cancer. This is confirmed by a report published on Friday by the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG). IQWiG notes that psychological symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, stress, tension and mood swings are particularly susceptible to short-term effects of music therapy interventions. The study confirms that health-related quality of life and subjective well-being are improved by music therapy.
