Taxpayer’s bill for English National Opera has risen to £155,000 per show, after the company scaled back its work to cope with funding cuts. Conductor Harry Bicket has extended his contract with Santa Fe Opera until autumn 2020. Also, on Sunday 27 November, BBC Radio 3 will replace its usual schedule with 12 hours of live concerts, features and interviews to showcase the work of the BBC Orchestras and Choirs.
