Händels “Ariodante” erstmals an der Wiener Staatsoper

Händels Ariodante erklingt am Samstag, 24. Februar 2018 erstmals an der Wiener Staatsoper – mit dieser Premiere kommt nach Alcina eine weitere Oper des Komponistenl ins Repertoire des Hauses am Ring. Händel komponierte sein „Dramma per musica in drei Akten“ für das Londoner Opernhaus Covent Garden zu einer Zeit, in der er heftigen Konkurrenzkämpfen ausgesetzt, finanziell gebeutelt und angeschlagen war.

Neuer Chefdirigent für die Symphoniker Hamburg 

Der Generalmusikdirektor der Oper Stuttgart, Sylvain Cambreling, hat am Sonntag in Hamburg seinen Vertrag als neuer Chefdirigent der Symphoniker Hamburg unterzeichnet. Der Franzose folgt zur Spielzeit 2018/19 auf Sir Jeffrey Tate, der am 2. Juni 2017 im Alter von 69 Jahren starb.

L’opera persa di Donizetti “L’Ange de Nisida” in scena per la prima volta a Londra

Il prossimo 18 luglio sarà rappresentata al Covent Garden. La partitura originale è stata ritrovata e ricomposta in un lavoro durato 8 anni dalla musicologa calabrese Candida Mantica.
