Australian National Piano Award Finalists Announced

The finalists have been announced for the 2018 Australian National Piano Award, with 14 pianists going on to compete for $68,000 in cash and prizes in Shepparton, Victoria, in September.

Mariinsky Orchestra inaugurated concert hall in Saudi Arabia

Russian Mariinsky Orchestra played the inaugural concerts at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra). The center, located in the eastern city of Dhahran, is to become a cultural hub for the Saudi Kingdom.

Lewis Graham has won the inaugural Royal College of Music (RCM) Yamaha Clarinet Prize. The prize was open to RCM students in their second year of an undergraduate music degree who had been awarded a distinction in their first-year recitals.

Dirigierstudent wird Assistent bei Sächsischer Bläserphilharmonie

Der Dirigierstudent Benjamin Huth wird ab September 2018 künstlerischer Assistent bei der Sächsischen Bläserphilharmonie. Der 26-Jährige werde neben seinem Studium dem Chefdirigenten Thomas Clamor assistieren, teilte die Leipziger Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” am Montag mit.
