Also, The North Devon Sinfonia has been chosen to be a part of TV series All Together Now.

Amateur orchestras competing for Proms spot revealed

The BBC has revealed the five orchestras selected to participate in All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge. The series will follow the ensembles in their quest to be crowned the best UK amateur orchestra and to perform on stage at the BBC Proms in the Park concert in Hyde Park.

Bis Records to release final recording of Minnesota Orchestra’s SIBELIUS series, 9/9

The Swedish label BIS Records releases the final recording of the Minnesota Orchestra’s celebrated Sibelius symphonies series. Conducted by Music Director Osmo Vänskä, the album features the Finnish composer’s Third, Sixth and Seventh Symphonies.
