Menuhin Competition 2016 names 10 violinists through to the Junior Semi Finals
Each of the 10 violinists, aged between 11 and 15, will perform their choice of Beethoven Sonata and a virtuoso work. They will also collaborate with professional musicians in Dvořák’s Terzetto in C for two violins and viola.

Mega donation for Royal Danish Opera
AP Møller Foundation has pledged an undisclosed figure of more than DK100m (13.4m) to Royal Danish Opera(RDO) – the single biggest gift in its history. While the exact amount is not known it is far in excess of the DK35m cut in government funding that the company has recently experienced and is believed to be several hundred million Danish Krone.
