Orchestra To Perform Video Game Symphony for Montreal’s 375th anniversary
Canadian Orchestre Métropolitain will present in November 2017 the Montreal Video Game Symphony as part of Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations. The work will take the form of a multimedia show in which the orchestra’s musicians will play music from landmark video games developed in Montreal.

Thüringen will Subventionen für Theater und Orchester bis 2021 erhöhen
Das Land Thüringen plant, die Förderung der Theater und Orchester bis 2021 auf 77 Millionen pro Jahr zu erhöhen. Es sei vorgesehen, die Unterstützung bis zum Jahr 2025 in gleicher Weise fortzuführen, 2021 müsse jedoch die Machbarkeit überprüft werden.

Oper Stuttgart: Cornelius Meister wird neuer GMD
Die Staatsoper Stuttgart und ihr Orchester bekommen einen neuen Generalmusikdirektor: Cornelius Meister (36) übernimmt den Posten zur Saison 2018/19, teilte das baden-württembergische Kunstministerium am Mittwoch mit. Der Vertrag werde zunächst für sechs Spielzeiten bis 2024 vereinbart.
