Shigeru Umebayashi
Film music composerInternationally renowned film composer Shigeru Umebayashi (aka Ume) was instantly recognized for his talent when he began composing in 1984. He deftly went on to prove his versatility within world cinema through working with directors such as Roberta Torre, Veit Helmer and Peter Webber. Ume has over 60 film music credits to his name, and multiple awards and nominations. His most famous composition is ‘Yumeji’s Theme’, composed for Wong Kar-Wai’s film In The Mood for Love, also composed and produced on the soundtrack for The House of Flying Dragons. Ume also composed the music for the official documentary of the Beijing Olympics, The Everlasting Flame: Beijing 2008.
