PRS for Music Foundation appoints Chuka Umunna as ambassador
Chuka Umunna, MP for Streatham, South London, has become an ambassador for PRS for Music Foundation. He will join fellow ambassadors Judith Weir, Imogen Heap, Emily Eavis, Amplify Dot and Ghostpoet in supporting and promoting the Foundation’s work.
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra appoints new chief conductor
Lahav Shani, 27, has been appointed as the new chief conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Shani will become the youngest chief conductor in the orchestra’s history when he takes up the position in 2018.
Opera North announces Classic FM partnership
Opera North has become Classic FM’s opera company in the UK. The partnership extends the relationship between the two companies, which previously focused on the Orchestra of Opera North as Classic FM’s orchestra in Yorkshire.
