Roxane Elfasci presents previously unpublished arrangements for guitar of major works from the early 20th century

Following the acclaimed release of her first recording in 2021, Hommage à Debussy, dedicated to one of France’s most influential composers, guitarist Roxane Elfasci presents her new album Poésie Française, out now on the Cosmos Music label.

In this new Poésie Française CD, we discover previously unpublished arrangements for guitar, solo or in duo with Baptiste Erard, of major works from the turn of the 20th century: Saint-Saëns’ Cygne, Debussy’s Valse Romantique, Gabriel Fauré’s Romances sans paroles, Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie n°1 and Valse-Ballet.

The album also includes a work originally written for guitar by Arnaud Dumont – Hommage à Ravel, and two arrangements by Roland Dyens of world-famous French songs: La Foule and Edith Piaf’s Hymne à l’amour. This mosaic of French works closes with a peaceful version of La Marseillaise, a true hymn and symbol of freedom.

Roxane Elfasci studied with Jérémy Jouve and Gérard Abiton at the Paris Conservatoire. A great admirer and enthusiast of French culture, Elfasci celebrates the richness of this cultural heritage through music and her work as a guitarist.

Her performance of Debussy’s Clair de Lune arranged for guitar has gained over 9 million views on Youtube, and has won critical acclaim for both its virtuosity and its musicality.

Roxane’s music has been aired on BBC Radio 3, and her viral video performance of Debussy’s Clair de Lune was featured on Classic FM online. Her music has also been featured in Spotify’s ‘Classical New Releases’ playlist. She has also been featured in esteemed publications, such as Guitar World and International Arts Manager, with the latter labelling Roxane as a “fast-rising classical guitar player” and a “classical guitar virtuoso”.
