A symphony orchestra wearing many hats, each of its projects, however varied, is marked by one and the same quest, that of a ‘collective state of contemplation and profound availability, in contrast to the perpetual acceleration of movement’.

Founded in 2015 at the instigation of Raphaël Merlin, at the Ferme de Villefavard in Limousin, Les Forces Majeures brings together musicians from regular chamber music ensembles and leading hexagonal orchestras or fresh out of higher music training.
