Moritz Simon Geist

Producer and Composer

Moritz Simon Geist is a German artist, music producer, and robotics engineer who aims to invent the future of electronic music using robots. He combines his backgrounds in classical music and engineering to create robotic instruments that mechanically generate sound, transforming digital code into tactile, physical experiences.

His work explores the intersection of design, robotics, and electronic music. Geist gained international recognition in 2012 when his first major work, the “MR-808” (a mechanical replica of the classic TR-808 drum machine), went viral. Since then, his innovative installations and performances, such as the “Popcorn Jazz Robot,” have been showcased at prestigious international venues including the Venice Biennale, South by Southwest (SXSW), and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

Through his projects, Geist addresses fundamental questions about the perception of technology and the future of artificial intelligence in a playful and entertaining way. He operates a studio in Dresden, where he prototypes his unique instruments using modern fabrication techniques like 3D printing and laser cutting.

At WildKat, we are thrilled to be supporting him with his new release in 2026.
