BACKAurora Orchestra joins The Big Give Christmas Challenge
The Aurora Orchestra is taking part in online fundraising campaign The Big Give Christmas Challenge from today (Tuesday 3 December 2019) until Tuesday 10 December 2019 in order to raise money for its school’s programme.
During the campaign, online donations are doubled thanks to generous match funding at no extra cost to the supporter. The donations will help to support schoolchildren in Camden and Islington, giving them the opportunity to take part in Aurora’s interactive Far, Far Away storytelling concerts at King’s Place, Aurora’s Resident Orchestra home. Aurora also works with special schools in Westminster and Haringey to adapt Far, Far Away for children with special educational needs including autism, physical disabilities and multiple learning difficulties.

Für sie gehe ein Traum in Erfüllung, kommentierte Bartoli ihre Entscheidung, den Leitungsposten anzunehmen. «Ich habe 1989, ganz am Anfang meiner Karriere, mein Debüt im ‘Barbier von Sevilla’ in Monte Carlo gegeben und fühle mich seitdem sehr mit Monaco verbunden», sagte die Opernsängerin. Die monegassische Oper habe «einen der schönsten Opernsäle der Welt – seine Grösse und seine Akustik sind perfekt, ein wahres Juwel», schwärmte Bartoli. Drei Jahre vor Antritt ihres neuen Postens sprühe sie regelrecht vor Ideen – «wie am ersten Tag»
