Hauschka, alias Volker Bertelman, is a German pianist and composer and one of the most accomplished and creative performers of the prepared piano, exploring new sound experiences by placing objects inside the instrument. His vivid, delicate and haunting works bear the influence of John Cage and Erik Satie.

Hauschka has performed around Europe as well as in the USA and Japan. Among his recordings, Room To Expand and Ferndorf particularly stand out.
