Music@Malling

Festival

Founded in 2011, Music@Malling brings excellence to people’s doorsteps and has built its audiences from scratch, bringing world-class musicians to West Malling and its surrounding villages: an area with rich cultural heritage and set in an outstanding natural environment. Music@Malling has developed a reputation for innovative and bespoke programming in its concerts and outreach, featuring the music of contemporary composers alongside classical, jazz, world and film music. Music@Malling has a festival each September and a number of satellite concerts and outreach events running across the year.

Music@Mailing returns to Kent in-person with refreshing live performances from various acts. Partnering with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, the festival will captivate audiences with composer Mark-Anthony Turnage’s work: Concertino for Clarinet. Composer Eleanor Alberga OBE will also be working with Music@Mailing with an educational project based on the fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which will be performed with local school children. Classical and Jazz music will be showcased this year with performances by renowned chamber musicians Adrian Bradbury and Andrew West with Cello and Piano Sonatas. This will be followed by a collaboration between Callum Au and Jazz legend Liane Caroll, and Ronnie Scott’s The James Pearson Trio. The Immy Churchill Trio will also bring us classic Jazz tracks from the iconic 1956 Ella and Louis. Outreach events will also feature, such as Side-by-Side, Go Compose, Meet the Composer, and talks and screenings from distinguished director Barrie Gavin, and composers Mark-Anthony Turnage and Brian Eilas
