Orchestra Lumos is the reimagined, redesigned, renamed institution formerly known as the Stamford Symphony. 

Lumos, which is Latin for light, reflects the Orchestra’s reinvigorated mission to engage a larger demographic and illuminate music the broader community of Fairfield County with meaningful musical experiences.

 Orchestra Lumos presents exceptional concerts with world-renowned professional musicians that also perform on the stages of New York’s major orchestras and ensembles such as the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera and many more. In addition to its impressive annual concert schedule of 14 performances, reaching an annual audience of over 13,000, Orchestra Lumos will be found throughout the Fairfield County community, from Greenwich to Bridgeport, presenting dozens of small space concerts, family programs, and free community engagement activities. Partnerships include many of Fairfield County’s community pillars, such as houses of worship, museums, shopping centers, libraries and bookstores, breweries, public schools, nature centers, and more, ensuring that Orchestra Lumos will be more accessible to the broader community than ever before..

They are also bringing hands-on education programs to enhance music initiatives  that touch over 5,000 students every year.
