Peter Baert

Composer

Peter Baert is a Belgian composer and recording artist whose work spans film, documentary and concert music. With a background in electronic music and film scoring, including work on David Oyelowo’s directorial debut The Water Man, Baert brings a cinematic sensibility to his compositions, combining acoustic instruments, subtle electronics and carefully crafted ambience.

WildKat is pleased to be working with Baert on a PR campaign for his debut album, This Fragile World, released with Raygun on 17 October 2026. Recorded with Echo Collective and the Budapest String Orchestra and mastered at Abbey Road, the album began as a personal reflection on grief following the loss of his parents, developing into a broader exploration of life’s fragility, human connection and healing. Featuring piano, strings, field recordings and subtle electronic textures, the music invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences of loss, love and acceptance.

The album also carries a deeply personal significance for Baert as a message of love and connection for his three daughters, creating a musical legacy that bridges generations. Its first single, Lament, released on 4 September, features Belgian artist Témé Tan, whose soulful improvisation brings an added emotional depth to the composition.

Through the campaign, WildKat is championing This Fragile World to the UK press, highlighting Baert’s cinematic approach to composition and the album’s intimate exploration of grief, vulnerability and the enduring power of human connection.
