Taner Akyol
Taner Akyol is a composer and Bağlama player from Bursa, Turkey who has been living in Berlin since 1998. After his studies at the Hans Eisler Academy and the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts (UDK), Taner released his first solo album, “Birds of Passage”, which received acclaim by both the world audience and critics.
His first opera “Ali Baba und 40 Räuber”, commissioned by the Komische Oper Berlin, was performed 30 times and established his unique voices as a musician and composer. Alongside his work in the classical world, Taner took to the stage at jazz clubs in the heart of Europe with his trio, releasing albums in 2010 and 2014.
