Daniela performs ‘Vienna Passions’ – October 2010

Friday 15th October 2010

October 2010 sees Daniela performing a new programme entitled “Vienna Passions” with Austrian baritone Klemens Sander and pianist Andrew West. The programmes explore a mixture of ‘serious’ classical repertoire including duets by Schubert and Beethoven, and lieder by Enrich Wolfgang Korngold. More light-hearted Viennese songs (Wienerlied), and arias and duets from operettas promise to transport the audience out of the concert hall, straight into the heart of Vienna.

The young mezzo’s impressive CV includes Daniela’s Royal Opera House debut in 2008; recitals in Carnegie Hall, Philharmonie Berlin, Wigmore Hall and more; countless festival appearances; recordings for Hyperion and the BBC; and numerous awards. Most notably she won the Marilyn Horne Foundation Competition 2004 and a Borletti-Buitoni Award in 2008. Also in 2008 she won a place on BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists Scheme. She has been described by Opera Now as an exceptional mezzo-soprano and “a star of the future”
