Exclusive Presentation of Accentus Music’s New DVD/blu-ray

Friday 28th March 2014

Today, Accentus Music mark the release of their DVD/blu-ray with a panel discussion and signing session. The DVD features the St Thomas Boys Choir’s concert of J.S. Bach’s ‘Mass in B minor’ at last year’s Leipzig Bach Festival. The renowned choir performed with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. There will be also a few extracts from the DVD/blu-ray shown to the audience.

Stefan Altner – MD, St. Thomas Boys Choir – Dr. Dettloff Schwerdtfeger – Artistic Director, Leipzig Bach Festival – Paul Smaczny – Producer and MD, Accentus Music – and a boy from the St. Thomas Boys Choir will talk about the recording at the incredible book and music-shop-cum-events-venue of Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus.

The Bach Festival was first held 1908 in honour of the composer who had lived and worked in Leipzig as a St. Thomas Cantor from 1723 until his death in 1750. The performances are planned and run in close collaboration with the musical centre of excellence, the Bach Archive Leipzig, which, along with the MDR and ARTE Live Web, is one of the co-production partners of the Accentus recording.

For more information about today’s talk, please see Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus’ website.
