Curfew: tensions between Castex and Bachelot
This morning Antoine Pecqueur looks at the impact of curfew on the cultural sector and its management by the executive. Faced with Jean Castex, Roselyne Bachelot did not succeed in sparing cinemas and theatres from the curfew, thus demonstrating that the Ministry of Culture is not a regalian ministry. The adage says that to govern is to foresee.
In recent days, the opposite has been demonstrated. It all began last Wednesday when Emmanuel Macron announced the curfew starting at 9 pm in Paris and in eight metropolises. The president wants to be concrete and explains that for a person who needs 30 minutes of transportation, he will have to leave at 8:30 pm to go home.
It is an immediate battleground for all the directors of cultural structures who are launching into reprogramming, bringing forward the time of shows, or changing programmes to favour shorter forms.
Opus Klassik adorns itself with stars and strangers
Berlin. In the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, with the moderation of Thomas Gottschalk, the Opus Klassik will be presented in a gala television concert, the ZDF will broadcast the recording a few hours later.
We remember: The Opus Klassik is the new name for the Echo Klassik, which, along with the Echo Pop, fell into disrepute two and a half years ago due to the anti-Semitic derailments of its twin prize, Echo Pop.
A lot of the music industry’s money was apparently attached to the Echo Klassik, so giving up was out of the question. There was only a superficial name change. The burgeoning discussion about other questions on the topic of this award, such as the one-sided commercial orientation, was nipped in the bud.
