This isn’t the first honorary degree the pianist has received. In 2011, the Prince of Wales awarded him a PhD from the Royal College of Music, in 2012 picked up a degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and is also an honorary fellow of Oxford University.

London International A Cappella Choir Competition: Tallis Scholars host tribute to Tavener

Choirs from Estonia, Spain, Poland, the US, Sweden, Ireland and the UK will compete in the competition, which was conceived as a 70th birthday tribute to Sir John Tavener and will now be held in his memory.

Marianela Nunez, Thiago Soares and Fernando Montano nominated for 2014 LUKAS awards

Royal Ballet Principals Marianela Nuñez and Thiago Soares, and First Artist Fernando Montaño have all been nominated for the Personality of the Year award at the Latin UK Awards (LUKAS). The LUKAS awards, which are now in their third year, celebrate the culture of Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese communities in the UK. This year, around 1,200 people were nominated for a total of 65 awards.
