Southbank and skaters reach agreement on QEH undercroft

Following a protracted dispute with the skating community over plans for the £100m-plus ‘Festival Wing’ redevelopment of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Hayward Gallery and surrounding open spaces, the Southbank Centre has agreed not to give over the QEH’s undercroft for retail development and to continue to allow the space to be used in its current form.
