Paul Leonard-Morgan and Philip Glass collaborate for new Amazon Prime series

Released tomorrow, ‘Tales from the Loop’ dramatises Simon Stålenhag’s book of the same name. It imagines an alternate universe in which a particle accelerator is built underground to explore the mysteries of the cosmos.

The soundtrack is a collaboration between Philip Glass, in his first ever project for TV, and Paul Leonard- Morgan, an EMMY nominated, BAFTA award-winning composer.

Leonard-Morgan described his aim to create a soundtrack that is ‘an integral part of the series that will also be a beautiful listen without the films.’

Glass commented that ‘the intersection of our two styles has produced a score both unexpected and familiar that accompanies the series beautifully.’

Bavarian State Opera postpones opera project of Marina Abramovic – Opera Festival still planned

The eagerly awaited opera project “7 Deaths of Maria Callas” by performance artist Marina Abramovic will not be premiered as planned via live transmission on the Internet. The Bavarian State Opera announced in Munich on Wednesday that the project had to be postponed due to the corona pandemic.

Until now, the project had been prepared in small groups, now many people on stage and in the orchestra had to be involved. The Monday concerts, which had been streamed so far, were also cancelled. Instead, the costume department will shift to the production of protective masks, on a voluntary basis.

Over the past few days, employees had expressed their concern about working conditions in press reports, especially with regard to a possible risk of infection.

The Munich Opera Festival, however, has not yet been cancelled. “We will decide together with all directors of the house and in coordination with the ministry at the beginning of May on the organization of the festival,” said Bachler. As things stand at present, rehearsals would begin on May 18.
