This weekend, Lionel Bringuier will conduct the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, with a programme of orchestral favourites featuring Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A Minor and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra. Lionel feels very close to the Concerto for Orchestra, having first conducted it as a student in Paris. Soloist Martin Helmchen shares the stage with Lionel for Schumann’s Piano Concerto.
Lionel is Chief Conductor Designate of the Tonhalle Orchestra. His four-year contract will begin in the 2014-2015 season, and will include over thirty concerts, along with a number of tours and recordings.
