Classic FM appoints Maxim Vengerov as artist-in-residence

Classic FM has appointed violinist Maxim Vengerov as its first solo artist-in-residence.
The radio station created the partnership ahead of Vengerov’s anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall this summer, which celebrates his 40th year on stage.
Classic FM will broadcast exclusive recordings from Vengerov, including concertos by Brahms and Tchaikovsky, an in-depth interview, and a ‘takeover’ weekend. In addition, 12 new videos will be released online and on social media in which Vengerov will share advice on performance and study.
Vengerov said he was ‘thrilled’ by the partnership. ‘This year is very special for me and working so closely with Classic FM, sharing all my exciting projects with their audiences, means a lot to me.’
