Music academy pledges free lessons to keyworkers and their children

A recently-launched online music tutoring academy is offering a series of free lessons for keyworkers and their children throughout the UK and the USA, and is also offering 20% off its current packages of lessons. 

RockAcad, a service founded by acclaimed drummer David Green, expanded during the UK’s first wave of COVID-19 in March to be made available to all ages, abilities and backgrounds. 
Green was also able to bring together a team of musicians to extend RockAcad’s offering to singing, bass, guitar, drums, piano, music theory, music production and live sound engineering for students in lockdown across the country.

Theater setzen auf kostenpflichtige Videoangebote und VR-Brillen

Online-Videos waren im Frühjahr während des Lockdowns für viele Theatermacher die einzige Chance, dem Publikum etwas zu bieten. Doch nun setzen einige Häuser nicht mehr nur auf kostenlose Clips.

Mit kommerziellen Videoangeboten wollen auch in Bayern einige Theaterhäuser in der Corona-Krise zusätzliche Einnahmen generieren. Das Augsburger Staatstheater will in diesem Bereich bundesweit führend sein und hat deswegen inzwischen eine eigene Mediathek im Angebot.

Theatres rely on paid video services and VR glasses

Online videos were the only chance for many theatre-makers to offer audiences during the spring lockdown. But now some houses are no longer relying solely on free clips.

With commercial video offers, some theatres in Bavaria also want to generate additional income during the Corona crisis. The Augsburg State Theatre wants to be a national leader in this area and has therefore started its own media library.

Lucie Leguay nommée “cheffe assistante” à l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France

Elle secondera le directeur musical Mikko Franck, à compter de janvier 2021.

Cette fois c’est sûr, les lignes bougent sur le front de la féminisation de la direction d’orchestre. Après le succès du concours La Maestra à la rentrée dernière, après les nominations récentes de Johanna Malangré à l’Orchestre de Picardie, de Nathalie Stutzmann à Philadelphie ou de Stephanie Childress à Saint-Louis, c’est désormais une des grandes phalanges parisiennes qui s’attache les services d’une dame.

Lucie Leguay appointed “assistant conductor” at the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra

She will assist Music Director Mikko Franck, starting in January 2021.

This time it is certain that the lines are moving on the front lines of the feminisation of orchestral conducting. After the success of the La Maestra competition last autumn, after the recent appointments of Johanna Malangré to the Orchestre de Picardie, Nathalie Stutzmann to Philadelphia and Stephanie Childress to Saint-Louis, it is now one of the great Parisian phalanxes that is now attaching the services of a lady.
