Music@Malling returns for 2019

Set in historic venues in and around West Malling, Kent, Music@Malling is to return for its ninth year from 15 – 28 September 2019. Combining the music of contemporary composers with classical, jazz, vocal, world and film music alongside a series of outreach events involving hundreds of young people in creative activities, Music@Malling continues its commitment to new music and community engagement with this year’s event featuring 29 concerts.

Women connect hosts mental health in music event

The next Women Connect event will gather experts from across the music industry to discuss the impact of mental health on creators and their support networks. The evening, which takes place on 25 September in London, will feature a panel discussion with guests from Sony Music UK, Help Musicians UK, Music and You, Getahead, British Association of Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM), plus the artist Che Lingo. They will address the stigma surrounding mental health and explore how the creative industries affect existing mental health problems.

Chefdirigent James Gaffigan verlässt Luzern 2021

James Gaffigan wird seinen Vertrag als Chefdirigent des Luzerner Sinfonieorchesters nicht noch einmal verlängern. Er ist seit Beginn der Saison 2011/12 auf diesem Posten, und sein Vertrag laufe « wie geplant bis zum Ende der Saison 2020/21. Chief conductor James Gaffigan will leave Lucerne 2021

James Gaffigan will not renew his contract as principal conductor of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.
