In a rare version for chamber orchestra by Arnold Schönberg (1920), completed by Rainer Riehn in 1983, Le Balcon, conducted by Maxime Pascal, gives us its version of Gustav Mahler’s famous piece with the complicity of Stéphane Degout and Kévin Amiel

The Song of the Earth is Gustav Mahler’s most personal composition, as the composer himself revealed. It takes on all its twilight hues with Stéphane Degout and Kevin Amiel’s performance. Ardently conducted by Maxime Pascal, Le Balcon delivers a performance which sets the standard, using Arnold Schönberg’s pared-down transcription in the acoustic setting of the Basilica of Saint-Denis.
