Damian Iorio to conduct WNO tour of ‘The Magic Flute’ in 2019

Conductor Damian Iorio will join the Welsh National Opera for its touring production of W. A. Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’ in the first half of 2019.

The production will be directed by Olivier award-winning Dominic Cooke, and will tour UK cities including Cardiff, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Plymouth, Bristol, Llandudno and Southampton.

This will be Damian’s first engagement with the WNO, having previously worked with the likes of Glyndebourne Festival Opera, San Francisco Symphony, St Petersburg Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, BBC Symphony, Philharmonic and Scottish orchestras and BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Damian is currently in Paris to conduct ‘Boris Godunov’ with the Opéra national de Paris, with performances on 19, 22 June and 6, 9, 12 July.
