Monday 15th September 2014

Very exciting news for WildKat’s Nimrod Borenstein – his composition Soliloquy for solo cello has been chosen as the obligatory piece in the first stage of the 45th International Jeunesses Musicales Competition. The Competition will be held from 20 to 30 March 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia and Nimrod’s piece can be downloaded here.

Soliloquy was first premiered by world-renowned cellist and ex-member of the Kronos Quartet Jeffrey Zeigler on 16th April 2013 and has been performed many times since. It had its UK premiere at The Forge in London where it was played by Corinne Morris. After this performance Nimrod’s works were described as “works of merit and bursting with inspirational textures while retaining an ease of accessibility” by Performance Reviewed and the most recent performance was as little as a month ago at St Martin in the Fields.
