Concours de Genève 2024 announces the singers selected for the semi-final of this year’s competition
Of the original 32 candidates, these eight have been selected to participate in the semi-final round on 15-18 October, in which they will each present an Opera Recital, Lieder/Song Recital and Artistic Project:

Shelen Hughes, Soprano, 27 years old
Junho Hwang, Tenor, 25 years old
Jungrae Noah Kim, Baritone, 29 years old
Franciana Nogues, Soprano, 23 years old
Jaeeun Shin, Soprano, 29 years old
Barbara Skora, Mezzo-Soprano, 25 years old
Chelsea Marilyn Zurflüh, Soprano, 28 years old
Candidates for the Voice Competition were invited to submit a video application including three works chosen from three different periods and in three different languages with one baroque or classical aria (oratorio or opera), one opera aria and a Lied or song.
For the first official round of the Voice Competition, the 31 selected candidates had to produce a 30-minute video recital, which included 2 opera arias, 1 oratorio aria (sacred music) and 2 Lieder/Songs.
The semi-finals will take place on 15-18 October during which the singers will perform an Opera Recital, a Lieder/Song Recital and present a Personal Artistic Project to the jury in a public interview.
The Final Round will take place on 22 October at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and will be followed by the official prize-giving ceremony. The three finalists will get to perform with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Alevtina Ioffe.

Voice:
- 2-8 September: Online Recital Broadcast
- 13 October: Welcome Ceremony
- 15-18 October, Salle Franz Liszt, Geneva: Semi Final Round in 3 parts (Opera Recital, Lieder/Song Recital and Artistic Project)
- 22 October, 7 PM, Grand Théâtre de Genève: Final Round with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Alevtina Ioffe.
Composition:
- 16-19 October: Welcome Ceremony and rehearsals in Geneva
- 20 October, 2:30 PM, Salle Franz Liszt, Geneva: Showcase concert
- 20 October, 5 PM, Victoria Hall, Geneva: Final Round with the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, conducted by Pierre Bleuse with soloists Lise Berthaud, Georgy Kovalev and Adrien La Marca.
The Semi-Finals and Final will be live streamed on Concours de Genève’s website, social media channels and amadeus.tv, as well as a live broadcast on RTS-Espace 2.
