Rosey Chan releases Christmas EP ahead of next major album

Friday 4th December 2020

Following on the heels of her emotive interpretation of ‘Silent Night’, inspirational contemporary classical pianist and composer, Rosey Chan, has released her Christmas EP today.

Rosey Chan’s performance of ‘Silent Night’ from Hotel Cafe Royal

Currently in residence at London’s iconic Hotel Café Royal till 17th December 2020 – the release of the Christmas EP ‘JOY’ foreshadows her next major album to be released early next year. Chan’s residency is the centrepiece of the hotel’s “Work from Café Royal” campaign and the storied hotel provides the perfect environment to compose and produce her music.

At Café Royal, Chan will also spend time collaborating and recording with fellow creatives across multiple disciplines such as fashion, design, environmentalism, art and, of course, music. Guests will include Dominic Miller (Sting’s Guitarist), Suli Breaks, Charles Dance, Nicole Farhi and Thomas Heatherwick.

Chan’s music features virtuosic improvisation, beloved classical repertoire and her own compositions. She has performed at the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival, the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, Carnegie Hall and, in 2020, the Virtual Design Festival. She is a Steinway Artist and the first contemporary classical artist to be signed by music label, Platoon. Her next album, following this week’s Christmas EP, will be the first-ever album to utilise the patented scientific analysis of personalised digital music therapy app LUCID. In it, the calming effects of music will be used to induce different therapeutic states including sleep and sic improvisation.
