BACKSony Music Masterworks signs the harpist Cecilia De Maria
Purcell School, Royal College of Music and BBC Young Musician alumna enters into a first recording contract
The harpist Cecilia De Maria, UK born to Maltese parents, has signed an exclusive contract with Sony Music Masterworks. She entered the Purcell School at the age of 11 before moving on the Royal College of Music, where she studied with Daphne Boden, completing her Master’s Degree there with distinction.
Under the new recording agreement, De Maria will ‘release a range of new works written especially for this talented and versatile musician, including works by composers of the moment, together with unique arrangements of classical pieces for harp’. The album will be produced by the Award-winning Anna Barry.

Hygienerahmenkonzept für Kultureinrichtungen im Land Berlin in aktualisierter Fassung vorgelegt
Die Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa hat die aktualisierte Fassung des Hygienerahmenkonzeptes für Kultureinrichtungen im Land Berlin veröffentlicht. Das Hygienerahmenkonzept beinhaltet unter Punkt IV auch die besonderen Hygiene- und Schutzmaßnahmen für das gemeinsame Singen in geschlossenen Räumen. Damit hat die Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa die Bedingungen veröffentlicht, wonach das gemeinschaftliche Singen in geschlossenen Räumen nach dem grundsätzlichen Beschluss des Senats vom 21. Juli 2020 wieder möglich ist.
Der Senator für Kultur und Europa, Dr. Klaus Lederer: „Zunächst danke ich allen Beteiligten am Expertengespräch vom 21. Juli: Den Vertretern der Chöre, der Kirchen, den Wissenschaftlern und Lüftungsexperten. Ihre Bereitschaft, mitzutun am Austausch und der Erarbeitung der Schutzmaßnahmen, garantiert eine vernünftige Ausgewogenheit von Risikominimierung bei der möglichen Ansteckung mit dem Corona-Virus und dem Bedürfnis, in Kirchen und Chören endlich wieder gemeinsam zu singen. Jetzt kommt es darauf an, die Regelungen im Interesse von Sängerinnen und Sängern und Publikum verantwortungsvoll und gewissenhaft zu berücksichtigen. So ist das Kulturerlebnis ‚gemeinsames Singen‘ auch dauerhaft wieder Kunstgenuss.“

Culture despite Corona
Hygiene framework concept for cultural institutions in the State of Berlin presented in updated version.
The Senate Department for Culture and Europe has published the updated version of the Hygiene Framework Concept for Cultural Institutions in the State of Berlin. Under point IV, the hygiene framework concept also includes the special hygiene and protection measures for singing together in closed rooms. The Senate Department for Culture and Europe has thus published the conditions according to which singing together in closed rooms is possible again after the fundamental decision of the Senate on 21 July 2020.
The Senator for Culture and Europe, Dr. Klaus Lederer: “First of all, I would like to thank everyone involved in the expert discussion of 21 July: the representatives of the choirs, the churches, the scientists and ventilation experts. Their willingness to participate in the exchange and the development of protective measures guarantees a reasonable balance between minimising the risk of possible infection with the corona virus and the need to finally sing together again in churches and choirs. Now it is important to consider the regulations responsibly and conscientiously in the interest of both singers and audience. In this way, the cultural experience of singing together will also be a lasting enjoyment of art again”.

Les théâtres Mariinski et Bolchoï frappés par le coronavirus
Un média russe rapporte plusieurs cas de Covid-19 parmi les artistes du théâtre Mariinski de Saint-Pétersbourg. De plus, un membre du Bolchoï de Moscou serait lui aussi malade.
Selon les interlocuteurs du média russe RBC, le Théâtre Mariinski compterait un grand nombre de malades dans la compagnie. Une danseuse, sous couvert d’anonymat, a ainsi déclaré que plusieurs personnes étaient tombées malades, mais qu’elle ne pouvait pas en dire davantage. « J’ai une fièvre de 38,6° et je me sens faible », confie-t-elle, ajoutant que « tous ceux qui se sentent mal sont envoyés en quarantaine ». Elle signale également que des campagnes de test sont régulièrement menées au sein du théâtre.
Jusque-là, les répétitions allaient bon train. Le service de presse du Mariinski a précisé que « suite aux plaintes de plusieurs artistes de la compagnie de ballet à propos de la détérioration de leur santé, ils ont rapidement été suspendus de leur travail et ont fait l’objet de tests. » Une partie des cours seraient désormais annulés.
Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theatres hit by coronavirus
