Trinity Laban Conservatoire and Tomorrow’s Warriors have joined forces to tackle imbalances in representation in the UK jazz scene by introducing young musicians from diverse backgrounds to jazz music.
The new project, the Jazz Hang, has been designed to nurture the next generation of jazz musicians, focusing particularly on Black and female musicians ages 11-16, centring around a weekly Sunday residency programme.
Informal and practical, the sessions will be hosted at Trinity Laban’s Faculty of Music and will be led by Tomorrow’s Warriors’ music leaders.
Bundesregierung erhöht Kulturetat auf Rekordsumme von 2,1 Milliarden Euro
Berlin, 27.11.2020. Der Haushaltsausschuss des Bundestages hat einer Erhöhung des Kulturetats um zusätzliche 170 Millionen Euro zugestimmt. Damit steigt das Budget im kommenden Jahr auf die Rekordsumme von 2,1 Milliarden Euro. “Zahlreiche Kulturprojekte in allen Teilen des Landes können durch die Unterstützung des Bundes zusätzlich realisiert werden”, so eine Sprecherin der CDU/CSU-Fraktion. Bereits jetzt hat die Regierung mehr als 100 Projekten ihre finanzielle Unterstützung zugesagt.
Dazu gehört unter anderem die Sanierung des Bayreuther Festspielhauses, für die 84,7 Millionen Euro bereitgestellt werden sollen. Mit dem zusätzlichen Geld soll unter anderem in Sicherheit und Technik des Hauses investiert werden.
Federal government increases cultural budget to a record sum of 2.1 billion euros
Berlin, 11/27/2020. The Bundestag’s budget committee has approved an increase in the culture budget by an additional 170 million euros. This will increase the budget in the coming year to a record amount of 2.1 billion euros. “Numerous cultural projects in all parts of the country can also be realized with the support of the federal government,” said a spokeswoman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group. The government has already promised its financial support to more than 100 projects.
This includes the renovation of the Bayreuth Festival Hall, for which 84.7 million euros are to be made available. The additional money will be invested in security and technology in the house, among other things.

C’était l’un des espoirs suscités par l’allocution présidentielle : mardi soir, Emmanuel Macron avait ouvert la porte à un « horodatage » des billets de spectacle lorsque ceux-ci reprendront, normalement à partir du 15 décembre, encadrés par le couvre-feu. La mesure a été précisée aujourd’hui lors de la conférence de presse du gouvernement.
