Vanessa Benelli Mosell & Henri Demarquette at Ramatuelle

Friday 25th July 2014

Italian pianist, Vanessa Benelli Mosell, will be in concert with the French cellist Henri Demarquette at Festival de Ramatuelle near Saint-Tropez on Monday 28 July. Both are exceptionally talented musicians, and have studied at top conservatoires from a young age and won prizes in numerous competitions internationally. Together, the two will be performing a programme of Chopin, Rachmaninov, Fauré, Debussy, Falla, Ravel and Piazzola.

The Festival de Ramatuelle was founded in 1985 by Jean-Claude Brialy and Jacqueline Franjou in honour of the great French actor Gérard Philipe as a festival for theatre and variety shows. The Nuits Classiques are a more recent addition to the festival giving classical music artists the opportunity to perform in the magnificent stage setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Since its beginnings, international artists were drawn to perform at the exquisite festival and loyal audience members were able to enjoy Yasmina Reza, Charles Aznavour and Jane Birkin and Paolo Conte in the past decades. When Brialy died in 2007, the actor Michel Boujenah joined the festival management and has since brought international artists and ensembles such as Vanessa Paradis and the Orchestre de Toulon to the quaint coastal town.

Vanessa Benelli Mosell and Henri Demarquette are in good company at Ramatuelle and their concert will be one of the highlights of this year’s festival. To reserve tickets, please visit the festival website.
