Thursday 22nd May 2014

WildKat PR is thrilled to announce that it will be working with young Israeli pianist Ariel Lanyi.  Ariel made his orchestral debut at the age of 7 after beginning piano lessons just before his fifth birthday.  He has since built up a busy recital profile of engagements in Paris, Rome, Prague and Belfast and his concert appearances are regularly featured on Israeli radio.  His debut album Romantic Profiles was released in 2012 on LYTE Records and includes Schumann’s Carnival Scenes from Vienna, Liszt’s Fantasy and Fugue on the theme B-A-C-H, Brahms’ Fantasies Op. 116, and Janacek’s Piano Sonata I.X.1905.

Ariel has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras in Israel and has participated in the Israel Festival, Prague Music Performance, Tempietto Festival in Rome and the Ravello Festival.  In 2014, he will participate in the Young Prague Festival.  His talent has also been the focus of numerous documentary programmes on Israeli and British television, including ITV’s “Superhuman: Genius”.

Ariel is currently a student at the High School and Conservatory of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and also studies violin, chamber music, and composition.  He has played in masterclasses with Leon Fleisher, Richard Goode, András Schiff, Yefim Bronfman, Murray Perahia, Andrei Gavrilov, Ivan Moravec, Angela Hewitt, Paul Badura-Skoda and Jonathan Biss, among others.
