WildKat PR welcomes Matthew Sharp

Tuesday 4th February 2014

WildKat PR is delighted to welcome cellist, baritone and actor Matthew Sharp to its artist roster. Matthew Sharp plays concertos with major orchestras, sings principle roles at national opera houses, acts on film, at the Young Vic and National Theatre Studio and creates and curates new work.

Described by The Times as a ‘virtuoso of the arts,’  Matthew has recorded for Sony, Naxos, Decca and Avie, premiered over fifty new works – including Sir John Tavener’s Petra and The Fool – and given solo performances at venues as diverse as Glastonbury and Latitude, major international music and theatre festivals, Sydney Opera House, the Knitting Factory NYC, Southbank and Wigmore Hall. Previously artistic director at Deal Festival where he transformed its profile, smashed box office records and introduced a pioneering outreach programme, Matthew is currently creative director at Revelation @ St Mary’s.

Praised by The Daily Telegraph for his ‘astonishingly comprehensive versatility – [an] extraordinary cellist, virile baritone, compelling actor’, Matthew is a 21st-century Renaissance Man, charting new directions and connecting with new audiences for great music. Matthew will be curating the RE:naissance 2014 at King’s Place in May, which will draw on many different musical and literary sources as part of Shakespeare’s 450th birthday celebrations featuring romping tavern nights, genre-transcending tales of passion and intrigue, and spirit-summoning rituals with the Devil’s own music. WildKat PR will be working with Matthew on the press surrounding RE:naissance 2014.
